At Wikimedia Deutschland e.V. we help create, collect and distribute free knowledge.
In 2004, volunteer Wikipedia activists founded the non-profit association Wikimedia Deutschland in Berlin, which now consists of over 100,000 members and 160 full-time staff.
Free knowledge leads to a fairer world. Wikipedia is the most important online knowledge collection of our time. The German Wikipedia alone records almost 1 billion page views per month for a total of 2.6 million articles. We - Wikimedia Deutschland e. V. - support the volunteers of Wikipedia and its sister projects, develop free software, such as Wikidata, and advocate for free access to knowledge, the opening of education and research, and more common good orientation in data policy.
For our team Product Management, based in Berlin, we are looking for a permanent Product Manager (m/f/d), full-time or part-time, as soon as possible.
You will be the Product Manager of Wikibase Suite. Wikibase Suite allows institutions to create and host their own linked knowledge base with maximum customizability. The product is currently used by GLAMs (Galleries, Libraries, Archives, Museums), research groups, and the public sector. At its core, Wikibase is like a powerful toolbox that offers a collaborative space for individuals and groups to contribute, edit, and curate data in a structured way. With Wikibase, we are enabling the co-creation of the world’s largest knowledge graph of free and open data which will be used to open up new knowledge pathways for the world.
The Wikibase Suite team is composed of engineers, a UX researcher and a UX designer, as well as a mix of stakeholders concerned with community and partner management. You will be the sole Product Manager for this team, collaborating closely with the Wikibase Suite Engineering Manager and the Wikibase Suite Product Manager. You will also be a part of the Product Management team, and report to a Head of Product.
